Import Mobile RegEdit File

The Import Mobile RegEdit File dialog box appears when you choose the Import RegEdit File... command on the context menu of a mobile registry key. It allows you to preset various options for the registry keys and values that will be imported from the RegEdit file.

Dialog fields and options

This dialog box contains the following fields and options.

Attribute Description
Add Select this option to add all registry keys and values from the RegEdit file to the project as new items. This may result in duplicate items if the project already contained like-named registry keys or values.
Replace Select this option to replace any existing registry keys and values with the same name in the project with the information that is imported from the RegEdit file, and add any missing keys and values. (Other registry keys and values are left undisturbed.)
Skip Select this option to skip any registry keys or values from the RegEdit file that already exist in the project. Any previously non-existing keys or values are added.
Assign to new component

Select this option to assign the imported registry keys and values to a newly create component. You must also enter a name for the new component. The component is used in the following cases:

  • For any newly created registry keys and values;
  • For any keys and values that are replaced (only if you chose the Replace option above);
  • For any pre-existing imported keys and values that were not previously assigned to a component.
Assign to existing component

Select this option to assign the imported registry keys and values to an existing component. You must also select a component by using the ... (browse) button to open the Select Component dialog box.

The component is used in the same cases as Assign to new component, above.
