Service Recovery Action
The Service Recovery Action dialog box appears when you click on the ... (Edit) button below the Recovery actions list in the Service properties pane. It allows you to select the recovery action type and delay.
Dialog fields and options
The dialog contains the following fields and options.
| Field |
Description |
| Action |
Select the desired recovery action from the drop-down list. The following options are available:
| Action |
Description |
| Take no action |
No recovery action takes place. This is the recommended action type for the final recovery action, if you specify any actions at all; it prevents a never ending number of recovery attempts if the service has failed permanently. |
| Restart the service |
Attempt to restart the service after Delay seconds have elapsed. |
| Restart the computer |
Restart the computer after Delay seconds have elapsed. If you also specify a Reboot text in the Service properties pane, then that message text will be broadcast to all logged-in users prior to the system restart. |
| Run a program |
Run an external program after Delay seconds have elapsed. You must also specify a Run command in the Service properties pane if you choose this recovery action. |
|
| Delay |
Enter the delay between the service failure and the start of the recovery action, in seconds. |
