Navigate commands

The Navigate menu contains commands that navigate between project pages and project items. For easy access, a few common commands are also duplicated on the context menus of many project items.

Command Description Keyboard
Back in History Displays the previous project page or project item that you visited. Alt+Left
Forward in History Displays the project page or project item that you visited prior to the last Back in History command. Alt+Right
Clear History Clears the internal history of visited project pages and project items.  
Next Message Selects the next diagnostic in the diagnostic messages pane and displays the associated project item. F4
Previous Message Selects the previous diagnostic in the diagnostic messages pane and displays the associated project item. Shift+F4
Next Pane Moves the keyboard focus to the next window pane on a page. The usual cycle is: tree view, list view, attributes pane, diagnostic messages pane, then back to the tree view. Ctrl+F6
Previous Pane Moves the keyboard focus to the previous window pane on a page. The direction of travel is the opposite of the Go To > Next Pane command. Shift+F6
Next Page Displays the next project page. Only project pages in sections that are open in the navigation pane at the left are included in the traversal. Ctrl+PgDn
Previous Page Displays the previous project page. Only project pages in sections that are open in the navigation pane at the left are included in the traversal. Ctrl+PgUp
Go to Component Displays the Components page and selects the component that controls the installation of the project item to which you applied this command.  
Go to Target Object Displays the project page on which the target of the current project item resides and selects that target object. This command applies to shortcuts, resource references within components, and some other project items.
